A BRIEF HISTORY

Never buy on impulse and really think through the decision to get a dog.

A dog is a lifetime commitment and will rely on its guardian for all of its needs.

The average life span of a dog is anywhere from ten to fifteen years or more and a puppy is a living creature you cannot "try on for size".

Be prepared to make a commitment to the care and well being of your dog from puppyhood to old age.

To help make the decision on whether you should introduce a dog to your life, consider the following points:

Our Dogs Are Bred At Home!
I've been a professional dog groomer since 1982.  This is when I was first introduced to standard poodles and, as a result, I fell in love with this amazing breed.

Since 1992, I have been breeding and socializing standard poodles with tender loving care and I give my undivided attention to ensuring that my standard poodles are amongst the healthiest and smartest of dogs.

My dogs are bred only once a year. Clients are invited to meet the new mom's and we encourage the new families to come and visit their puppy often as it is growing.  The pups are home raised until they are ready to go their forever home and before they leave our care, we register the pups and provide a 3 year written guarantee against hereditary diseases.  We test for VWD, S/A, hip displasia and eyes and provide the clients with a web-link for more information on these hereditary diseases.

The pups are visited by the Vet in our home at which time they are examined, micro chipped and receive their first set of vaccines.

We pride ourselves in providing a high quality, safe and stable environment for our dogs and thank you for visiting us!

Please visit this often as there may be some new additions in the future!

A Brief History of the poodle

There are several theories of the Poodle's origins and, while it is regarded as the National Dog of France, the breed's actual roots may have come from Germany where he is known as the Pudel or Canis Familiaris Aquatius.

The breed is also known as the "French Poodle" and the "Caniche." The Standard Poodle's original popularity was largely due to his fame as a Water Retriever.

Ancient Egyptian and Roman artefacts depict the Poodle's ancestors assisting their masters as game nets are brought in, retrieving various game from marshes, and herding animals.

The Poodle is said to be related to the Portuguese Water Dog and the Irish Water Spaniel.

The Standard Poodle is the oldest of the three varieties, however, there is evidence that indicates the smaller types, the Miniature and Toy, were developed shortly after the Standard breed was established as he is recognized today.

Poodles were first brought to North America at the end of the 19th century but the breed did not become popular until after the second World War.

By the mid 1950's, and for about 20 years thereafter, the Poodle was the most popular breed in the United States.
